God took you quick because you were ready
You'd learned all there was to know
Once you'd spent some time with all whom you loved
He knew it was time to go
*
Your time on Earth, it was always preciousLived life with a vigour that's rare
Your smile's everlasting, your memory alive
Our feelings we've all laid bare
*
We'll all soon be going to an event that you lovedA conference you would not have missed
But don't you worry you won't be forgotten
Your name's already on the list
*
You won't have a name badge nor a goody bagWe won't see you for real on the day
But thanks to computers the ones that you loved
Your image will come alive that way
*
So you see, you'll still be there, in a waythat's as real as the memories that we all share
We'll never forget you or what you taught us
Because we all still care
*
So you'll always be with us, inspired we remainFor you were a shining light
When an angel lives upon this earth
The star that twinkles is BRIGHT!

ReplyDeleteA very beautiful post for a very beautiful person x
ReplyDeleteI love how you always manage to capture all the little things about her that we all miss so much xxx
ReplyDeleteShe was a very special lady, who was light years ahead of the rest of us, in knowing what's important in life.
DeleteAn old soul she was I'd say.
Liska x
A very beautiful post, sad but beautiful x
ReplyDeleteSimply beautiful xx
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful. A lovely, lovely tribute xx
ReplyDeleteThis is the lady I hope my MM has found in the sky. This is the lady I turned to so many times for help with my children. We had journeyed so many similar paths. This was the lady who insisted I got help from Home Start. She knew what I needed and she helped me to get it. This is a lady full of love and I hope that this beautiful MM has found my MM up in the sky x
ReplyDeleteThis is the lady that keeps me going every day, this is the lady that keeps me strong, you are the lady that inspires and encourages me to still smile each day with the children. xx

ReplyDeleteA wonderful poem for someone who I never had the chance to meet, but from every single account, was a wonderful woman. You really are a truly great poet, Liska - a great tribute xx
ReplyDeleteI did not know her but your tribute paints a vivid picture, lovely.
ReplyDeleteUntil the last ten months I never appreciated, as an "oldie", the power of the social media. It has become a massive comfort, not only to Nick, but the entire family and I send our grateful thanks to you all. Dick (Nick's dad).
ReplyDeleteAn absolutely beautiful tribute. I came into the blogging world as Kerry left ours - she left behind a wonderful legacy and so many amazing memories. I wish I could have met her but I know for sure she will be there in spirit next weekend. An honour to have this poem linked up to Prose for Thought xx
