In Need of a New Look

I am currently between a 16 and an 18.  Right now, having eaten 3 cookies that have made me bloat I am probably even bigger!  Looking about 5 months pregnant (I wish!) but I would only give birth to a cookie monster LOL.

Clothes have been on my mind a lot lately as I went to a wedding in Ireland in May and bought two maxi-dresses for it, so I would have a choice.  Really, I was thinking that whichever one I would not wear, I would wear to another wedding I have to go to in September, again in Ireland.

BUT I have made a decision.  I don't know if I can do it, in the time I have got, but I want to be a size 12 by then.  For my "new look" I would like a knee length shake a leg dress rather than a hide-it-all to the floor, cover of all sins, maxi-dress.

Given my current financial status, I was really happy to see that getting a new dress won't break the bank.  I have always known that New Look's reasonable, but currently they seem to have right bargains.

Given that September can often be nice, this is what first caught my eye:

This strikes me as having a vintage look about it. Only £24.99.  I'd have to dump the weight to carry it off!

This next one makes me think of Audrey Hepburn - is it just me?

Again a snip at £24.99
I am calling this the "impossible dress" as although it is a bargain at £9.99 there is no way my child bearing hips could carry it off:

It'd take a miracle to get me into this one!
I think, I really like this one.  I don't normally wear black to weddings but you can never go wrong with a LBD right? What do you think of this one? It would have to look nice in real life though!

Only £14!
Anyway back in the real world!  Today Aaron and I walked to town to get the ingredients for tonight's dinner (or "tea" depending where you are in the country) and bless him he was in the buggy under a rain cover all the way there and back.  Thank God I took photos of him in the sun in the park the other day, as although it blessed us for the bank holiday weekend, it was certainly not here to stay.

Today Aaron and I were both in our jackets; winter jackets!  With my current size mine is quite tight so I should probably be looking at women's parka jackets on New Look instead of dresses for a wedding I am not even going to till September, and if my Mum has her way, probably not at all :-(

Anyway the dress shopping albeit virtual was quite fun!  Did it just now while watching 3 episodes of Corrie on Catch Up TV :-) Shopping indoors is the way to go with the current weather!

  1. I love all those jackets. Good luck with your resolve - being financially strapped should be an incentive as you spend far less on food when you are not snacking yourself. And fruit and veg cost way less than processed meals. Looking forward to great updates. xxx
