Are the photos putting you in the holiday mood? You can almost smell Summer right?
I know as bloggers, we are all talented story writers *cough* not necessarily me! ha ha! I don't have any aspirations to write a book, apart from participating in 100 words every now and again.
But do you have a little one at home, who can put you to shame with their tall tales and creativity? Do their teachers always praise their writing, saying that little Johnny or Julie could write a book one day? Maybe they even have a blog of their own already...
If you have a 6-12 year old who loves to write, then this competition is for you - just go here for the >>> entry form.
It's well worth a punt as the prize up for grabs is
"a family holiday to a parc of your choice subject to availability for seven nights and excludes: Marina Di Venezia, Pra Delle Torri, Bella Italia, Yelloh! Village Le Brasilia, Le Séquoia Parc & Camping La Garangeoire. Travel will be included in the prize for a family of up to six to a maximum value of £500"You know what? Even if you don't win, there are even runners up prizes too:
"Second and third place stories will win an Amazon Kindle and five runners up will receive writing packs".
On 1st february they blogged about the Al Fresco Young Story Writers' competition and how it is bigger and better than ever as they have children's author Jeremy Strong onboard. It is worth heading over to the blog as it tells you how to enter:
"So, do you know a young J. K. Rowling or a budding Roald Dahl? Well, send them our way! Aspiring writers have until March 31st to submit a piece of writing no longer than 500 words about a journey, whether real or imaginary, to be in with the chance of winning an all expenses paid 2013 family holiday of a lifetime!" Source: Al Fresco blogTo inspire your young ones, Jeremy Strong wrote a short story for Al Fresco Holidays, called Joe's Unusual Journey.
Have a read of it, and let your creative girl or boy have a read, and see what you can come up with. Hey, a holiday is at stake!
You've got some time to allow creative juices to flow as the closing date is not until 5pm 31st March 2013.
The judging criteria which can be found here are:
- Story must be no longer than 500 words
- The story must have an element of a journey
- The story must be an original idea
- The competition is eligible for children aged from six to 12 years
I'd definitely be entering our household but Aaron's not even three years old yet. I can but dream.
Anyway, I'll leave you to it. Good luck.

This is a sponsored post, but the words apart from where indicated, in quotations, are mine, and I truly believe it is a great prize, and a fun competition to enter.
