Aaron was in bed the other night and wouldn't sleep and wanted to watch Lightning McQueen. I hardly ever use You Tube on my phone but as it was 11 o'clock at night I was desperate enough to try anything.
Well I didn't expect us BOTH to enjoy it. The phone was faced to Aaron, so I could not SEE anything but just listen to the song that quite literally blew me away, with the same title as the title of this blog post.
Aaron wanted to listen to it a few times; so did I.
The words of this song quite literally describe where I am at. The new town it mentions would be my new blog.
I am definitely in a transition phase and I know it is because I am approaching a birthday - my Mum said all through my childhood I always changed just before birthdays.
Lyrics are:
When you find yourself in some far off place
And it causes you to rethink some things
You start to sense that slowly you're becoming someone else
And then you find yourself
When you make new friends in a brand new town
And you start to think about settling down
The things that would have been lost on you are now clear as a bell
And you find yourself, yeah, that's when you find yourself
Well, you go through life so sure of where you're heading
And you wind up lost and it's the best thing that could happen
Cause sometimes when you lose your way it's really just as well
Cause you find yourself, yeah, that's when you find yourself
When you meet the one that you?ve been waiting for
And she's everything that you want and more
You look at her and you finally start to live for someone else
And then you find yourself, yeah, that's when you find yourself
We go though life so sure of where we?re heading
And then we wind up lost and it's the best thing that could happen
Sometimes when you lose your way it's really just as well
Because you find yourself, yeah, that's when you find yourself
Read this on my phone and couldn't comment earlier. Excellent. That's one of our favourite movies, but I hadn't listened properly to the lyrics before. Disney is FANTASTIC for this sort of thing!
I have to listen to more of the artist's stuff (I think he is called Brad Paisley or something like that) - he just seems to transport me somewhere. It sounds like country music, which having had a very Irish upbringing I am particularly tuned into. Liska xx

ReplyDeleteI discovered this song while doing the exact same thing. Great song, great film.
