Brit Mums Blog Prompt - 5 years ago

For the first time, I am taking part in a Brit Mums blog prompt.

It is:

Prompt 1: Flashback

Flashback! We want you to look back to FIVE YEARS AGO and share what your life was like. What was going on? Who was in your life? Who WASN’T in your life? What did you look like? Where were you going? It doesn’t have to be a specific date but simply FIVE years ago.

What was going on?  I was in Nigeria for my Father-In-Law's burial.

I looked colourful in my Nigerian traditional dress.

It was a sad time as I have known him since 1988.  But at the same time, in Nigeria a death is celebrated with much dancing and celebration.  It truly was an experience.  Like in Ireland they have a wake, where we stayed up all night.  I danced and had money placed on me.

I was made to feel very welcome, and it was lovely to send off my much loved Father-In-Law in style in the way he would have wanted.
